You know what's stupid? cryptic myspace bulletins that NO ONE understands except for the poster. Thanks for sharing, fuckers.

Here's some music that I've been listening to lately:

Arab Strap: Sounds like hi-fi prog rock, but they actually use a lot of "fake" instruments; these guys are drum machine whores. Not great singers, but I mostly like their heavy scottish accents and monologue-esque vocal styling. Favorite tracks: "The First Big Weekend" and "The Shy Retirer"

Why?: Awesome, awesome group. They receive a lot of criticism over their vague lyrics and Yoni Wolf's juxtaposition of nasal-y vocals and white boy rap. Frankly, neither of these things bother me. I love their polyrhythms (see "Crushed Bones") and edgy subject matter. Listen to "The Vowels, pt. 2" (strangely, there is no part 1), "Fatalist Palmistry, and "Crushed Bones".

Devendra Banhart: Not a lot of production in his early albums, but less is truly more. I love "This is the Way"; for some reason, I find it reminiscent of The White Stripes' lo-fi tracks. Plus, you've gotta love his beard!

This is how I waste time when I'm not on FarmVille.

This weekend I...
-Went to Dan Deacon at the Glob and had the time of my life
-Went sledding at ruby hill with hot cocoa and EVERYTHING
-Smoked hookah in a snowbank
-Saw the new Cohen Bros movie and liked it.
-Met all of Ashleigh's weird new friends at her Halloween dancestravaganza (spell check does NOT like that word). Seriously, I think dance parties are extremely fun. I wish I could get paid to go to dance parties, because I am very passionate about them.
-Got the shit scared out of me on Halloweeen when Doron surprise attacked me from underneath Ben's bed. Seriously, I didn't even know he was in town.
I use the word "seriously" a lot. Maybe I shouldn't take things so seriously.

Went to CC today as a prospective student. I liked it for the most part, but it's not my top choice because I actually know what I want to study. It has a great biology, archeology, English, and history department, but I'm not interested in any of those things.
Shitty day otherwise. I got really carsick on the way to colorado springs, and on the ride back to Denver, my mom wanted to talk about "serious things".
at least my artist interview is DONEEEEE

I have fucking straight C's right now. Why do I have straight C's? I am completely average.
This better change by the end of the week, no, by wednesday. It has to happen.

I'm still drained from the weekend. Sleeping in your own car is not very fun, especially when you are doing so in the middle of a residential area in 20 degree weather. And that bullshit 80-dollar park citation. wah wah.

Went to the hospital late saturday night; got some tests done and a few x-rays. I have influenza A, an ear infection, and a respiratory infection. My swine flu test results haven't gotten back to me yet.
I guess I'm not allowed to do ANYTHING at all this week. Well, on the bright side, at least I have a prescription for vicodin.

I have six out of seven h1n1 symptoms. I feel like my body is giving up its will to live.
One of the symptoms is confusion due to added pressure in the head, which means it is impossible for me to do my homework. I also can't drive because I have tunnel vision.

Unrelated: We got a call on thursday night from the lakewood police saying that they had recovered a stolen phone under my dad's name. At this point, I had forgotten that my phone was ever stolen because it took a YEAR for the cops to to find my phone. But it's kinda cool, because I'm getting reimbursed the $80 down payment on the replacement.

Yesterday SUCKED.
Long story short(ish), I came over to my dad's yesterday to drop off Brad's suitcase because he's staying there this week to house-sit. I walked into the house to find a HUGE shitstorm. The place was a damn mess; pizza dough, chocolate chips, beer bottles and cigarettes EVERYWHERE. It wasn't liveable. I asked him about it and he said he passed out drunk and a ton of fucking people came over. I kinda flipped shit about it, but the worst was yet to come. I mean, MORGAN'S BLOOD STAINS in my DAD'S BED. HSDGhi:KNDK;oHSDGILHSDOPgoUH. I left after that. Came over later, and we argued for quite some time. We stopped bickering when morgan decided to show up at the house out of nowhere, explained to me that this is the third time it's happened to her (WHOOOOORE), and cleaned the sheets herself. It was a nice gesture. We're on good terms now (me Brad, Morgan, and everyone else that was involved), but god damn.

I'm really tired.

Don't let the sun go down on your grievances
Respect love of the heart over lust of the flesh
Do yourself a favor: become your own savior
And don't let the sun go down on your grievances

And when you wake up in the morning
You'll have a brand new feeling
And you'll find yourself healing
So don't let the sun go down on your grievances

Going with Nicole to the head shop/shopping district tomorrow! Yeah!!!

I did NOT realize that (Manuel's) Jenny lives across the alley from my mom's house. I love her place, too. It's tiny, but very well decorated.

I also went to the downtown aquarium with Tori and Alicia.

Fun fun fun weekend with lots of people that I haven't seen since school.

Just watched the Klaus Nomi documentary. It's pretty low-budget, but I would recommend it.

Guess what, guys? The Adicts sold out to Warped Tour.

P.S. - Ashleigh, you suck. Quit taking drugs at Rhodes' house and come home.

Ashleigh just walked in the door about two and a half hours later than expected and is completely scoff-free, however, I got in trouble yesterday for getting home at 6pm after doing my gallery review. I gave my parents fair warning.
If my mom tells me one more time that our family doesn't have a Cinderella complex, I'm going to stab her in her sleep.
